Please upgrade to version 2.5.3. This solves a Javascript issue with IE / Safari. Enter your licence code in Settings > WooCommerce Extended Coupon Features to enable automatic updates.

Also, if a user does not click ‘update cart’ after selecting the free item, the free item will not be added to the cart. If you wish to automate this, you can use the snippet provided in this thread.
