Well, it would be quite tedious to enter the 5000 customers in that small field so I see 2 options:
1. Just send the couponcode to the 5000 customers and hope that they don’t share it with other users. You can limit the usage to 1x per user.
2. Use a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/ to assign a new role to these customers.
