I moved my site to a new hosting cluster and saw some of these errors in the logs.
2023-04-26T13:52:50+00:00 ERROR pre_set_site_transient_update_plugins WJECF_Pro_Admin_Auto_Update::uncached_get_plugin_update_data cURL error 28: Failed to connect to http://www.soft79.nl port 443: Connection timed out
I checked with Cloudways and they said they are not blocking it but said it seems certain subnets are blocked on your site’s side which may be including theirs.
—————
Hi Chris,We have tested and this blocking is not coming from our side. Instead the site soft79.nl is blocking certain subnets and it seems ours is among it.
Please ask the plugin vendor to whitelist these ip addresses .
34.75.78.49
34.74.88.113
34.89.244.65—————–
I can confirm this issue from SSH via CURL and can test again once fixed.
Can you look into whitelisting these IP’s to soft79.nl so the server can connect to check for updates and no longer fill the logs with errors?

admin@application1742-sshd-5bc8c44b6d-mgfpr:/var/www/html/public_html$ curl -ILvvvv http://www.soft79.nl
* Trying 185.220.175.173:80…
* Trying 2a06:2ec0:ded1:1:0:65:460:1:80…
* Immediate connect fail for 2a06:2ec0:ded1:1:0:65:460:1: Cannot assign requested addressApril 28, 2023 at 8:59 am #19711Soft79KeymasterCurrently our hosting providers receive many attacks from that IP-range and are unable to whitelist. I hope this is temporary. If you temporarily enable debug mode on our plugin’s settings page, you can disable automatic updates. This will remove the notification.

My experience is they will never remove the blocks and then I’ll have to manually check for updates which is for me the user not great.
Or put your updates specifically on another location you can control yourself like some S3 location and change the plug-in to pull updates from somewhere other than your main website (updates.soft79.nl) for example.
I understand they will not whitelist your main site but then you really should find a way to resolve that. Who knows how many other customers are never getting updates and don’t even know it!
Seeing as you’ve fixed issues for me in the past and those updates came as auto updates this isn’t a minor problem for me or possibly others. Moving updates specifically off your site URL shouldn’t be that hard if you don’t want to move the whole site.
Please consider it.

Manually checking this is not ideal for paid users (or any user for that matter)
