First time customer free products

Hi there, how do I create a coupon that will be automatically applied for first time customer to get a free product?

1. Create a 0% discount coupon and enter a coupon code and description
2. Tick ‘First purchase only’ on the Usage limits tab
3. Tick ‘Auto coupon’ on the Miscellaneous-tab
4. And enter the free product on the Free products tab
